Donated Equity - 07-1 - This bulletin eliminates the regulatory accounting practice of recording Donated Equity upon the receipt of tangible fixed asset donations of material value in favor of following generally accepted accounting principles recognizing income; and To present a regulatory accounting practice in the basic accounting for NCUA grants received by small credit unions, i.e., credit unions under $10 million in assets.
Agencies Issue Final Rules on Identity Theft Red Flags and Notices of Address Discrepancy
WASHINGTON - The federal financial institution regulatory agencies and the Federal Trade Commission have sent to the Federal Register for publication final rules on identity theft "red flags" and address discrepancies. The final rules implement sections 114 and 315 of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003.

Asset and Share Growth Expands in 2007
Alexandria, Va., August 22, 2007 – Federally insured credit unions reported solid asset and share growth through June 30, 2007, according to mid-year 2007 call report data submitted by the nation’s 8,238 federally insured credit unions.
Board Member Hyland and Outreach Task Force Gain Valuable Insight From Credit Union Community During New Orleans Town Hall Meeting
National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board Member Gigi Hyland hosted the third of six scheduled Outreach Task Force Meetings yesterday in New Orleans, LA. The creation of the Outreach Task Force is in further response to the findings in NCUA's Member Service Assessment Pilot Program (MSAP) which was issued in November, 2006. The purpose of the town hall meetings is to gather input and ideas from credit unions, credit union leagues, and other interested parties on the recommendations from the MSAP.

August 24, 2007, Alexandria, VA – National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Board Member Gigi Hyland met with Kimberly Reed, Director of the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund, U.S. Department of Treasury, last week to discuss ways credit unions can enhance their already significant role with this important government program. The CDFI Fund's mission is to expand the capacity of financial institutions to provide credit, capital, and financial services to underserved populations and communities in the United States. Currently, 133 credit unions are certified as CDFIs.
